CONSTRUCTION OF THE SECTION: OKUČANI – BORDER OF BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA / FIRST PHASE: BRIDGE ON THE STATE BORDER OVER THE SAVA RIVER

General information:
The inter-state bridge on the Sava River west (upstream) of Gradiška is part of the European interconnecting road E-661 connecting Split with Banja Luka, Virovitica and Balaton, i.e. with already constructed Banja Luka – Gradiška motorway (commissioned in 2013) with a future motorway: border – Okučani – Virovitica – Balaton.

The construction of the bridge is part of the overall work on the construction of a functional road on the section border – Okučani, which includes, among other things, a full profile of motorway on the Republika Srpska (Bosnia and Herzegovina) side, a four-lane motorway on the Republic of Croatia side, two separate border crossings and access roads. Upon completion of works, this road unit will enable faster traffic of people and goods, smooth and efficient performance of tasks of control bodies, and normal living in Gradiška, which is now very burdened.

The structure is a continuous single-cell steel box girder with consoles on both sides. The designed length of bridge is 462,25 m. The bridge width is Bv=22.60 m.

Scope of works:  
– construction of span structure of length of l=128,00+170,00+128,00=426,0 m and width of Bv=22,60 m;
– construction of section of motorway on the territory of the Republic of Croatia of length of  l =50,79 m and section of Gradiška – Banja Luka (Mahovljani) motorway in length of l =411,54 m on which the underpass will be constructed too, and
– placing of modern traffic control telecommunication equipment, the installation of traffic and navigation signalization, road equipment and public lighting.

CONSTRUCTION OF THE BRIDGE OVER THE TREBIŠNJICA RIVER IN TREBINJE

About the project:
The bridge over the Trebišnjica River in Trebinje is the biggest and the most important structure on the future east bypass that will connect roads for Herceg Novi and Dubrovnik with roads toward Bileća and Nikšić. The construction of east bypass shall relieve the center of Trebinje from traffic and significantly reduce travel time. The main bridge structure is a monolith reinforced prestressed concrete structure with 13 spans. The designed length of bridge amounts to l=484 m, and the width amounts to Bv=11.60 m.

Scope of works:
The construction of bridge structure will be performed using incremental launch method. The span structure is designed as continuous, prestressed box structure with vertical walls and spans of 26.00 + 4 x 36.0 + 2 x 54.0 + 5 x 36.0 + 26.00 = 484.00 m. The bridge width is 11.60 m.

The design envisages three foundation types: shallow foundation in axes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 9, 10, 11, 12 and 13, drilled shaft foundations in axes 6 and 7 and pile foundation in axis 8.

The piers are 2.50 m in diameter and they are of different heights. The height of piers: in axis 2 – 8.5 m, in axis 3 – 12.5 m, in axis 4 – 19.5 m, in axis 5 – 26 m, in axes 6 and 7 – 28.0 m, in axes 8 and 9 – 23.0 m, in axis 10 – 21.0 m, in axis 11 – 14.0 m, in axis 12 – 10.0 m and in axis 13 – 9.0 m.

The bridge construction project includes the installation of traffic signalization and bridge equipment, as well as of public lighting.

DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF THE MOTORWAY SECTION ON CORRIDOR 5C THROUGH THE REPUBLIKA SRPSKA FROM JOHOVAC INTERCHANGE (TOVIRA) TO RUDANKA INTERCHANGE (KOSTAJNICA)

Trans-European Corridor 5C is the main transportation route in Bosnia and Herzegovina from north to south. It connects Budapest (Hungary) with the Adriatic port of Ploče (Croatia). The total length of Corridor 5C is 335 km in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The motorway on Corridor 5C on the territory of the Republika Srpska from Doboj to Vukosavlje will be constructed in the length of 46.6 kilometers. It is foreseen that the whole section of the motorway will be constructed through four projects (contracts) from which the section from the Johovac Interchange (Tovira) to the Rudanka Interchange (Kostajnica) will be constructed first.

The company Integral Inženjering a.d. (PLC) is very proud that it was selected together with Granit a.d. (Skopje) as the main Contractor for this project on a very demanding international tender.

The scope of the Contract is the design documentation preparation and the execution of the following works:

– construction of the motorway section in the total length of l = 5.65 km with all auxiliary structures;
– construction of the Rudanka Interchange (Kostajnica) of trumpet shape with facilities and toll collection system;
– construction of the Johovac Interchange (Tovira) of T-shape;
– construction of 18 structures which include: 2 viaducts, 8 bridges, 4 underpasses and 4 passes;
– placing of modern telecommunication installation for traffic management on the motorway;– installation of traffic signs and equipment;
– placing of noise protection walls;
– drainage of the motorway alignment and the regulation of riverbeds;
– relocation of electrical installations, and
– lighting installation.

CONSTRUCTION OF PROTECTIVE GALLERY ON THE SLOPE C6 ON THE MOTORWAY E80, PROSEK-CRVENA REKA, LOT2: BANCAREVO – CRVENA REKA, PUBLIC PROCUREMENT No. 1.3.3./19

General information about project:

Corridor 10 je one of the most important Trans-European transport corridors that passes through Serbia. The program of construction of Corridor 10 through Serbia is carried out through four projects that are divided into sections and those into lots (contracts).

Construction of motorway E80: Niš – Dimitrovgrad (Bulgarian border) is realized under the name of Project “East”.
Work Contractor on the section Bancarevo – Crvena Reka was JV “Aktor & Terna” (Greece).

Due to particularly complex conditions, the Employer assigned the company Integral inženjering for construction of a protective gallery near the Bancarevo tunnel in order to permanently stabilize landslides near that structure.

 

Description of solution and works:

After analyzing possible solutions for stabilization of slope No. 6, and considering the height of the cut, it was concluded that the best solution was to construct a protective structure in the form of a backfilled gallery. The protective structure should be very solid and strong enough to carry an overlay of an embankment of height of h = 6.0 m above the roof plate. The embankment is intended as a permanent embankment to stabilize the hill. This solution was adopted on the slope section from km 28 + 478.00 to km 28 + 643.00, with a total length of L = 165.0m

The protective gallery is founded on drilled piles of diameter of Ф = 1.500 mm and length of L = 16.0 at distances of 2.5 and 3.0 m. The piles are connected by pile caps of dimensions b/d = 2.30/1.0 m, which are concreted in two sections of length of L = 165.0 m. Above pile caps, it is foreseen to construct a roof structure of monolith MB30 concrete plate of thickness of d = 1.30 m with span of L = 13.1m and 14.7m in the tunnel tube portal area. The roof plate will be waterproofed with a protection layer for the inclination. As the gallery is foreseen to be open in one part, the piles drilled in that part are subsequently processed and converted into permanent pillars. On the interior side and towards the hill, a lining made of sprayed concrete, which is applied in several layers in thickness of d = 5.0 cm is planned. At a level above the pavement structure and up to a height of approximately 1.0 m, the parapet wall of thickness d = 30 cm is planned. The backfilling of gallery is foreseen in the central zone with a constant height of about 6.0 m above the roof plate and variable height in the zone from gallery to the hill.

Scope of works:

– construction of 132 pcs of reinforced concrete piles of diameter of Ф = 1.500 mm;
– construction of pile cap of the supportive structure;
– construction of reinforced concrete walls between piles;
– construction of monolith concrete roof plate;
– construction of lining with sprayed concrete;
– backfilling of the gallery with earth.

EXECUTION OF PART OF THE WORKS ON STABILIZATION OF LANDSLIDE ON CUT NO. 2 FROM KM 876+075 TO KM 876+225, PHASE II WITHIN THE PROJECT OF CONSTRUCTION OF MOTORWAY E75, SECTION: GRDELICA (GORNJE POLJE) – CARIČINA DOLINA LOT1: ROAD AND BRIDGES FROM GRDELICA TO TUNNEL PREDEJANE

Integral inženjering a.d. (PLC) is a main Contractor on section Caričina Dolina – Vladičin Han, LOT 5: Roads and bridges on subsection Caričina Dolina – Manajle tunnel.
Contractor of works on section Grdelica (Gornje Polje) – Caričina dolina, LOT 1: Road and bridges from Grdelica to Predajane tunnel is JV AZVI SA (Spain) and TADDEI SpA (Italy).
Because of the particularly complex conditions, Investor awarded work execution on reconstruction of Cut 2 on section Grdelica (Gornje Polje) – Caričina dolina, LOT 1: Road and bridges from Grdelica to Predajane tunnel to the company Integral inženjering.
Stabilization of landslide is performed by construction of gallery on both motorway lanes. The gallery is funded on piles in three rows, Ф = 1500 mm. The deck is made over 177 pre-stressed girders.

Construction of motorway Niš – Dimitrovgrad (border crossing with Bulgaria) is realized under the name of Project “East”.
Contractor of works on section 5A: Staničenje – Šarlah tunnel was Aktor SA (Greece). The works on section Staničenje – Pirot (east) in length of 16.64 km are finished and the section has been opened for traffic since March 08, 2019.
Because of the particularly complex conditions, the Investor awarded execution of investigation works, reconstruction and permanent Šarlah landslide stabilization to the company Integral inženjering.
Scope of works:
- execution of geo-exploratory works;
- construction of reinforced concrete piles of diameter of ф = 2000 mm;
- construction of pile cap of support structure;
- construction of reinforced concrete slabs between piles.

About the project:

The project includes heavy maintenance (upgrading) of the state road IA3 (motorway) in total length of 21.65 km. Works on section with the biggest traffic load in the Republic of Serbia will be executed under the traffic, i.e. without total stoppage.

The works include the following:

  • preliminary works,
  • works on road base and superstructure,
  • rehabilitation works on structures (bridges),
  • works on improvement of drainage system,
  • works on road belt,
  • works on placing of traffic signalization and equipment and
  • works on public lightning.

RECONSTRUCTION OF EXITING AND CONSTRUCTION OF NEW RAILWAY TRACK ON SECTION DUGO SELO-KRIŽEVCI

Basic Project Data:

The Project includes the reconstruction of existing and construction of new railway track on section Dugo Selo – Križevci in the total length of l=36.38 km.

This is a part of large project of establishing of modern double-track railway on the Mediterranean Corridor of the unique Trans-European Transport Networks (TEN-T) (Transport Corridor RH2). After work completion, there will be possible to achieve the nominal design speed of 160 km/h on the whole railway section.

Due to the work delays, the Contractor terminated the Contract with previous Subcontractor and concluded the Contract with Integral inženjering a.d. (PLC).

Scope of works:

Integral inženjering a.d. (PLC) executes works on the construction of railway substructure, construction of railway structures (13 bridges, 7 underpasses and 81 culverts), construction of grade-separated railway crossing with roads (11 overpasses and 1 underpass), construction of service roads and reconstruction of Ivana Gorana Kovačića Street.

Project description:

It is foreseen the reconstruction of existing building of Municipal and Cantonal Court and Prosecutors Office in Tuzla which is located in the center of Тuzla. The building is constructed in 1962 as District Court in Tuzla. The total net area of building which will be reconstructed is approximately 4.600 m2.

Also, it is foreseen construction of new building of Municipal Court, Tuzla which is designed to be constructed on the place of Army Hall in Tuzla. The total net area of building is approximately 5.500 m2.

Works within the Project includes the following:

  • construction works,
  • construction and finishing works,
  • electrical installations,
  • mechanical installations,
  • water supply and sewage installations,
  • landscaping and
  • making of as-built design.

The works on reconstruction of the existing building will be executed in phases without interruption of using of building.

Corridor 10 is one of the most important Pan-European Transport Corridors which passes through the Republic of Serbia. Construction of Corridor 10 through the Republic of Serbia is implemented through four projects which are divided into sections, and those sections are divided into Lots (Contracts).

Integral inženjering a.d. (PLC) is the Main Contractor on section Caričina Dolina – Vladičin Han, LOT 5: Roads and bridges on subsection Caričina Dolina – Manajle Tunnel.

The Contractor on section Grdelica (Gornje Polje) – Caričina Dolina, LOT 1: Road and bridges from Grdelica to Predajane Tunnel is JV between the companies AZVI SA (Spain) and TADDEI SpA (Italy).

Due to the complex conditions, the Employer awarded to the Integral inženjering the part of work on execution on new rehabilitation of Cut 5 on section Grdelica (Gornje Polje) – Caričina Dolina, LOT 1: Road and bridges from Grdelica to Predajane Tunnel.

The permanent stabilization of Cut 5 will be realized with construction of retaining walls K1 and K3 which includes construction of concrete piles of diameter Ф = 1500 mm, reinforced concrete walls with buttress and placing of pre-stressed anchors of length of 35 m and SN anchors of length of 5 m.

Broader context of the Project:
The design of using of hydro system Trebišnjica is based on the construction of several hydro technical structures (dams, accumulations, open channels, tunnels and hydro power plants) with which water from karst fields of East Herzegovina is used for irrigation, control of floods and production of electricity. The construction of 7 hydro power plants and 6 accumulation basins in the system is planned to be constructed for production of electricity.
Four hydro power plants, which use water from “Bileća” accumulation basin are constructed up to now: HPP Trebinje I, HPP Trebinje II, HPP Dubrovnik and HPP Čapljina. They were successively commissioned from 1965 (HPP Dubrovnik) to 1981 (HPP Trebinje II).
Remaining 3 hydro power plants belong to subsystem “Gornji horizonti” and as it follows: HPP Nevesinje (61 MW), HPP Dabar (160 MW) and HPP Bileća (30 MW).
The subsystem “Gornji horizonti” includes using of water on section of the Gatačko field – the Zalomka river – the Nevesinje field – the Dabar field – the Fatnica field – the Bileća accumulation. Some water from north-west part of Nevesinje field will be used in this system in the final phase.

HPP Dabar is the first hydro power plant which will be constructed in area of Gornji horizonti.
The water from Pošćenje accumulation to HPP Dabar is carried through headrace tunnel of length of 12.1 km. The headrace tunnel passes through two different geological zones. The inlet structure is located near riverbed of the Zavidolska river and it is far from Pošćenje dam about 3.5 km. The grid and gate for tunnel closure for needs of control and maintenance are designed to be constructed. Two access tunnels (Straževica in length of 830 m and Vodostan in length of 295 m) are designed to be constructed for work execution.

C. ADVANCE HEADINGS – Straževica tunnel and Vodostan tunnel
Straževica tunnel: straight-line tunnel l=651.57m, excavation slope i=7.54%, horse-shoe cross section height 5.5m;

The construction of building of dimensions of 54.50 x 107.00 m and number of floors Po+Pr+1 is foreseen according to the Design. Also, the Design foresees the construction works, construction-craft works, works on water supply and sewage system, electrical works, thermo-mechanical works and landscaping around the building.

Construction of small hydro power plant “Bočac 2” – construction works

Investor:  Mixed Holding “Power Utility of the Republic of Srpska”, Dependent Company “Hidroelektrane na Vrbasu” Mrkonjić Grad

Value of works: 9,9 m EUR (19,3 m BAM)

Facilities of the newly designed power plant are designed in left side profile, in the area between the road and spillways, and are oriented in row, parallel with the direction of river valley and existing roads. Power plant includes: firth canal, intake, headrace with transition section, intake structure, and discharge race. Installation and access platforms are constructed above the supply channels and on the top of the intake structure.

Mini hydro power plant (MHPP) entrance structure is consisted of two entrance fields which are continued by supply sections which supply water to the turbines. Entrance structure is equipped with grids for impurity retention, grid cleaner, slide gates, equipment for detection of grid blockage and equipment for measurement of upper level. Discharge structure, i.e. let-off of the each turbine is equipped with one-piece slide gate.

In accordance with technical solution, MHPP is consisted of the following parts:

  • firth canal
  • intake structure
  • machine block
  • discharge race

Beside these works project includes construction of access road, mechanical and hydro mechanical equipment, HVAC, power supply equipment and installations and technical monitoring, survey marking, fire protection.

Design and construction of Banja Luka – Doboj Motorway, Section Banja Luka – Prnjavor (km 0+000 to km 35+300) Contract no. RS/EIB-2012/W

Investor: Public company “Republic of Srpska Motorways“

Value of works: 184,9 m EUR (361,6m BAM)

Broader context of the project:
The existing main road M16.1 from Banja Luka to Doboj, via Derventa, plays a very important role in the European long-distance transportation system. For the large part of both Republic of Srpska and Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, this road is a major connection with western and eastern Europe considering that 50% of industrial and social potential of the Republic of Srpska is concentrated in the area along the road.

That is why Banja Luka – Doboj motorway has the most significant infrastructure potential for further integration within the Republic of Srpska. The motorway will connect already constructed Gradiška – Banja Luka motorway (E 661) with future motorway on Corridor 5c. After being completed, the motorway will become the arterial road in the transit traffic with positive influence on the commercial and trade activities in the region.

The project is divided into two lots (contracts): section Banja Luka – Prnjavor and section Prnjavor – Doboj.

About the project (section Banja Luka – Prnjavor):
Integral inženjering plc, together with Granit (Skopje), is very proud for being selected as the Main Constructor of Banja Luka – Doboj motorway (section Banja Luka – Prnjavor) at very competitive international tender. The  works are in progress and we proved that we are  technically and professionally able to play the key role in this project of the significant international importance.

The works include design and construction of:
– motorway section in total length l = 33,5 km, with all structures;
– motorway intersection with toll plaza;
– Traffic Control and Maintenance Center;
– rest and service area;
– 63 structures: among others,  1 major bridge of l = 340 m and 6 smaller;  3 major viaducts of l = 449 m, l = 400 and  l = 146 m, respectively and 4 smaller;  9 overpasses,  tunnel,  underpass, passages;
-intelligent traffic, video surveillance and traffic management systems; design and construction of traffic signalization and equipment, installation of optical cables and Emergency Call System, noise protection, installation for dewatering of rainwater system.

Broader context of the project:
Corridor 10 is one of the most important pan-European transport corridors that runs through Serbia. Declared goals of the Government of the Republic of Serbia are (1) to create a transport system that will be compatible with the transport system of the European Union, (2) further modernisation, so that the Republic of Serbia would be prepared to adhere to the standards of the European Union which refer to transport. The programme of construction of the Corridor 10 through Serbia is conducted  through four projects that have been divided into sections and the sections into lots (contracts). From the perspective of construction works, the sections and lots consist of special structures such as tunnels, bridges, overbridges, overpasses and alike. After its finalization, the motorway would have a positive influence on the commercial and trade activities in the region and would contribute to the regional development and cohesion of the broader area of the Balkans.

Because of the programme’s importance, scope and value of the works, some of the leading international construction companies are competing and executing works there.

About the project (subsection Caričina Dolina – Tunnel Manajle):
„Integral Inženjering“ plc. is very proud for being selected, together with its partners, as the Main Constructor at subsection Caričina Dolina – Tunnel Manajle. The subsection is one of the most demanding subsections of the motorway on Corridor 10 in the Republic of Serbia, because the works are executed in the Grdelica Canyon. This is our the most important and the biggest project on very competitive construction market of the Republic of Serbia.

The works include construction of motorway section in total length l= 6,75 km, with all structures:

-construction of 7 bridges on highway section, one bridge on local road, one railway bridge, 3 galleries, 28 culverts, relocation of 1 km of railway, relocation of 1,3 km of local roads, works on regulation of the River Južna Morava, the River Sokolnica and the River Koznička;

-relocation of high-, medium- and low-voltage lines, construction of telecommunication channelization,  drainage works, supply and installation of traffic signalization and equipment, noise protection walls and landscaping.

Construction of the canal through the Field Fatničko from the end of the balancing reservoir Pađeni to the tunell Dabar – Fatnica

Broader context of the Project:
The design of using of hydro system Trebišnjica is based on the construction of several hydro technical structures (dams, accumulations, open channels, tunnels and hydro power plants) with which water from karst fields of East Herzegovina is used for irrogation, control of floods and production of electricity. The construction of 7 hydro power plants and 6 accumulation basins in the system is planned to be constructed for production of electricity.

Four hydro power plants, which use water from “Bileća” accumulation basin are constructed up to now: HPP Trebinje I, HPP Trebinje II, HPP Dubrovnik and HPP Čapljina. They were successively commissioned from 1965 (HPP Dubrovnik) to 1981 (HPP Trebinje II).

Remaining 3 hydro power plants belong to subsystem “Gornji horizonti” and as it follows: HPP Nevesinje (61 MW), HPP Dabar (160 MW) and HPP Bileća (30 MW).

The subsystem “Gornji horizonti” includes using of water on section of the Gatačko field – the Zalomka river – the Nevesinje field – the Dabar field – the Fatnica field – the Bileća accumulation. Some water from north-west part of Nevesinje field will be used in this system in the final phase.

The channel through Fatnica field is used for water passing from exit of Dabar – Fatnica tunnel to the entrance of Fatnica headrace tunnel – HPP Bileća which is in the construction phase.

The works are diveded in two sections:
Section 1 (l =2.086 m): is dimensioned on the flow Qmax=121,50 m3/s, which is the maximum capacity of the tunnel Fatnica – Bileća. Cross-section of canal is a trapezoidal canal bottom width 10m and slope 1:1,5. Reinforced concrete MB30 lining thickness 20 cm will be performed in sections length of 5m.

Section 2 (l = 491 m): is dimensioned on the flow Qmax=93,00 m3/s, which is the maximum capacity of the tunnel Dabar – Fatnica. Cross-section of canal is a trapezoidal canal with  slope 1:1,5.

Reinforced concrete MB30 lining thickness 20 cm will be performed in sections length of 5m.

Project includes construction of the bridge, which span is 27,40 m.

Works on construction of a balancing reservoir in Pađeni, Bileća, Bosnia and Herzegovina

Contracted works include:
-excavation in dilapidated limestone 70,000 m3;
-construction of RC balancing reservoir;
-construction of the section of RC channels;
-construction of the RC supporting structures, in total quantity of hydrotechnical concrete of 10,523 m3;
-ancillary works.
